Merry Birthday

The CASE Study Challenge has a fun card this week with lots of colors by Jennifer McGuireSUO Challenges also has a Birthday challenge up as we all need more birthday cards!  I decided to use Thinlets (I know, I know - I just can't get enough of them!) and some salt!  I took watercolor crayons and created a rainbow on a piece of cardstock. I went over it with an Aqua Painted then sprinkled kosher salt on it.  After drying & rubbing the salt off, I die cut Merry.  I mixed some SMOOCH & each color to add some very subtle splatter to my card base.

Supplies: All Stampin' Up! except the salt
Ink: Basic Black, Watercolor Crayons in Brights
Cardstock: Whisper White
Stamps: Sassy Salutations
Accessories: Big Shot, Thinlets, Aqua Painter, Rhinestones

Emerging Color Inspiration

I'm back with a little inspiration for The Technique Twist Challenge: Emerging Color!
Come join us here!

The Love card I combined with another technique called Die Cut Masking that I saw Lauri use! :)  I used the Chevron stamp from MPP and stamped one way then added the Pansies.  Using Illuminate, I stamped the chevrons in the opposite direction and clear embossed.  I used Basic Black & Elegant Eggplant as my sponged colors.  I used a Thinlet & ran it through the Big Shot.

Here's one more.  I embossed on the embossing.  First I stamped Merry Christmas & embossed it.  Then the snowflakes in Pool Party & Pistachio Pudding.  I clear embossing over the whole thing with the large Snowflake then sponged on Pacific Point & Island Indigo.
Using my Big Shot & a Thinlet, I die cut Merry Christmas. Then..........
Used the positive to created a whole other card!  I stamped a snowflake on Whisper White then adhered Merry on it. A few rhinestones & Voila!

I hope I inspired you today!
Have a fab day!

Twisted Challenge 05 - Emerging Color Technique

The Technique Twist is back with another fun challenge!  We're playing with the Emerging Color Technique!  Check out the blog for a great tutorial & inspiration picks from the Fabulously Twisted Design Team!

Using Pumpkin Pie, Summer Starfruit, & Soft Suede, I created this Thanksgiving inspired card.  First I stamped Pumpkin Pie & Summer Starfruit flowers on Whisper White cardstock.  I embossed En Francais using Versamark & clear embossing powder.  Then using the Soft Suede & Pumpkin Pie, I sponged over the entire piece.  Once dry, I used the thankful Thinlet to die cut the word.

Cardstock: Summer Starfruit, Whisper White
Ink: Soft Suede, Pumpkin Pie, Summer Starfruit, Versamark
Stamps: Flower Shop, En Francais

Faux Waxed Seal Inspiration

I'm back with a fun inspirational piece for The Technique Twist Challenge this month - Faux Wax Seal!  I created this cute little paperclip to add some pizzazz to my office supplies at work!

Super simple & a great idea for assembly line type projects!
Wrap some Washi Tape around the metal clip.
Using Vellum, add a pool of Pewter Embossing Powder then sprinkle with a little glitter.  Melt the pool and press your stamp into the melted powder for a min or so.  Remove & let cool.  Ink up your stamp and stamp onto the cooled seal.  Punch out the flower then also an additional flower out of cardstock. Adhere with Sticky tape to the paper clip.

There's still plenty of time to join the challenge!  :)

Supplies: All Stampin' Up! with the exception of the paper clip
Cardstock: Melon Mambo, Vellum
Ink: Melon Mambo
Stamps: Flower Shop
Accessories: Garden Gingham Washi Tape, Pewter Embossing Powder, Stampin Glitter in Silver, Pansy Punch

Have a fab day!

Twisted Challenge 04: Faux Waxed Seal

It's August 1 & time for The Technique Twist Challenge!  Our goal at TTC is to push the boundaries. Twice a month, we give you a technique along with our own ideas & want to see you what you create to take that technique to the next level.
We're playing with the Faux Waxed Seal technique!

I went kind of masculine this round.  I used white embossing powder & sprinkled some retired Stampin' Glitter: Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise, & Pure Pumpkin.  After heating it from the bottom, I quickly pressed the Happy Birthday stamp into the pool of melted powder.  I grabbed a Stampin' Write Marker in Lucky Limeade & went over the sentiment before adding some clear embossing powder & quickly heating it again to seal in the color.

Come join us at The Technique Twist to see how each Design Team Member twisted the technique & show us how YOU twist!

Ink: Lucky Limeade, Tempting Turquoise
