As you can see, I'm working hard now. Well, hard on crafting that is! ;) I found this tutorial for a Triple Easel Card! How cool is that!?! And it folds up nicely to fit in a standard size envelope! Sweet!
I used the Stampin' Celebration Challenge #61 as my inspiration and I liked the nature feel of it more than the holiday feel so I went with flowers & butterflies. I'm just really ready for the New Year! :)

Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Vellum Sheet, Champagne Glimmer Paper
Ink: Whisper White, Versamark

I'm bored. Not really bored-bored but more "I seem to have lost the motivation I had yesterday" bored. I have tons I want to accomplish and today was scheduled for shopping for organizational items. I have big plans of organizing at least one of the rooms in my house while I'm off the next four days. However, that all changed and I'm going shopping with friends tomorrow. For some reason though, it just threw me off course. I suppose I could still go shopping today. Hmm, decisions, decisions. ;) In the meantime, I'm being crafty which is fun since I haven't done that in forever!
I've combined a whole bunch of techniques below - Faux Tiling, Baby Wipe Reinkers, Embossing, sketching - you name it, it's probably there! ;)
It's hard to believe but 2013 is just days away! 3 days, in fact! This year has just flown by so fast I didn't send out too many Christmas cards due to time constraints. Instead, I'll send out some New Year's cards! This is a very CAS card with two layers - the second layer being 3 Red Glimmer Paper dots so really it's one layer! ;)
I first embossed Happy 2013 in White Embossing Powder then went back over with some flourishes stamped with Versamark & added some clear embossing powder for a watermark finish. After I added some dots and a few spritzes of Shimmer Mist, Voila! LOVE. IT! :) This card took exactly 5 minutes, 32 seconds to make.
Clean and Simple (CAS) one-layer cards are oh, so simple - so you think! Honestly, they are probably a little more tricky b/c you skip the layers, ribbons, & extra goodies. But what if you want to add some WOW! to that card? Here's an easy technique that will give you some WOW!
1. Stamp your flower image
2. Take an Exto-knife and cut around the edges of the petals (about 1/2 - 3/4 of the way down the petal). Do not cut all the way down because you will end up cutting out the image instead of just a few key petals.
3. Slightly curl up the petal edges.
As you can see in the pictures, it really adds a special touch to a one-layer CAS card.

Don't you just love fun cards?!?! I made this cute secret message card over the weekend. As you know Halloween is my favorite holiday so you'll be sure to see more out of me using the fun set Googly Ghouls.
How do you get to the secret message? Push the two flaps together and separate the middle! :)
I'm on vacation this week so I'm browsing the web for some fun new challenges to try! :0) I found a new sketch challenge called Retro Sketches. I used the sketch and decided to make a twisted gift card holder as my base.
Here's the inside.

Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Wild Wasabi
DSP: Be of Good Cheer DSP
Ink: Real Red, Wild Wasabi
Stamps: Sweets for the Sweet, Ornament Keepsakes
Accessores: Baker's Twine - Whisper White / Real Red, Framelits-Holiday Ornaments, Big Shot, Shimmer Mist
I honestly never thought I'd venture into the "Owl" Revolution. I thought I'd be one of the fun who resisted the urge to make a gazillion owls in all different forms and fashions. Then, it hit me. BAM! One, I REALLY wanted to make a ghost owl for Halloween! LOL And two, this is one extremely versatile punch that can be used for all ages! Considering I just gave my last kid themed stamp set to my SIL, Angie, I knew I had to find something quick! I have a LOT of kid birthdays coming up! ;)
Anyways, here it is! My first "Owl" card. Now granted, it's not really for a kid and there's no sentiment (which I purposely left off so it could really be any sort of card - love, birthday, miss you, thinking you, etc.) but it's cute & trendy! I like it a lot! ;)
My Grandma loves birds of all kinds! When I was a kid, I can remember browsing her bookshelves and seeing title after title of bird books. After making this card, I think I'm going to make her an entire set as one of her birthday gifts. She writes letters to everyone in the family and can never have enough cards to send. :0)
It's been great being able to stamp so much this week! I've rarely had this much time on my hands so I'm taking advantage while I can! :) For this card, I had a little fun creating some tiles out of the Ornament die cuts & Crystal Effects. The tiles are nice & glossy with a little Shimmer.
This month Shelli has challenged us to create a card with only two layers. I decided to add to my stash of masculine cards as I always need them but rarely have any.
I used my Big Shot in a creative way this time. Using a shim I left a diagonal blank space to add my sentiment thus eliminating a layer but still keeping the chevrons intact. I also cut into the ends of the diagonal space to add a faux tag. By using a Framelit Label die, I utilized the inside of the card as well then added a small Label in Wild Wasabi.
Supplies: All Stampin' Up!
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Wild Wasasbi
Ink: Wild Wasabi, Whisper White
Stamps: Memorable Moments, Word Play
Accessories: Big Shot, Chevron Embossing Folder, Framelits Label Collection
I love UPS days! They always mean fun Stampin' Up! packages with lots of great goodies inside! This is one of the new "in" colors for 2012-2013 called Summer Starfruit. It's kinda of a cross between lime and yellow. I paired it with Early Espresso for a lovely fall feel.
I'm all about versatility when it comes to stamps. I like to envision that I can use the same stamps in different ways. This philosophy applies to layouts as well. Check out the cards below by Brenda Rigby Riehle. Same layouts but each card is slightly different whether it be punches, stamps, colors, etc.
I struggle with Sympathy cards but this one is very simple and beautiful.
If you're keeping track, Brenda is after me in the Treasure Hunt. :)
