Clean & Simple Ornaments

Here's a quick clean & simple Christmas card that I demo'd at my workshop today. I cut a 1/2" frame out of chipboard (old cereal box) and drew a border line. After stamping the Ornament and add some lines, I then traced the border line in Tombow and added some glass glitter. I punched an ornament out of dotted paper from the Candy Cane Christmas Designer Paper Pack and added some bows. Voila!

Supplies: All Stampin' Up
Cardstock: Pear Pizzazz
Paper: Candy Cane Christmas Designer Paper
Ink: Old Olive
Stamp: Delightful Decorations
Accessories: Glass Glitter, 1/8" Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon
Tools: Ornament Punch, Tombow

Shopping & the Online Spectacular Event

Whew! Black Friday was a kick, wasn't it? Did you head out to the stores to find some great bargains in the wee hours? I think my dear husband was throwing me to the wolves when he asked me to pick him up a laptop from Walmart. LOL I vowed last year was the first and last time I would ever do Walmart on Black Friday. Needless to say, I stood in line for him for 3.5 hours. Yes, 3.5 hours!!!! I even read a whole book from start to finish while I was sitting there! The things we do for our loved ones! ;)

The great thing about today and throughout the weekend are all the cyber sales! Don't forget the great Stampin' Up Online Spectacular Event going on through November 30! So Many Thanks Luminaire

The Stampin' Celebration Team has come up with another fantastic challenge this week! Isn't this picture gorgeous? It's so subtle yet so beautiful at the same time!

I really wanted to keep my project very simple but yet still have it speak volumes! ;) At first, I was going to use Whisper White and Very Vanilla but that just didn't seem right for some reason. Instead I used some Versamark to create some watermarks on all sides of the Very Vanilla luminaire to still give it some design yet keep it simple.

The dimensions for the Luminaire are 3 1/2" x 11" and then an additional 3 1/2" x 4" piece of Very Vanilla. Score along the 11" side at 3 1/2", 7", 10 1/2". Score along the 4" side at 3 1/2". Sorry, the picture below isn't the greatest! I just couldn't get one to come out! :(

I made a little 4 1/4" square card using the same Watermark Technique.

Supplies: All Stampin' Up
Cardstock: Very Vanilla
Paper: Vellum
Stamps: So Many Thanks, For All You Do
Ink: Old Olive, Versamark
Accessories: SNAIL Adhesive
Tools: 1 3/4" Circle Punch, Dimensionals, Clean Embossing Powder, Heat Gun

Don't forget: The Stampin' Up Online Spectacular Event is going on NOW! A perfect time to grab some goodies for yourself and fellow stampers at 30-50% off! Click here for more info!

Hostess Gifts

Today we're celebrating Thanksgiving! My husband's grandmother and aunt have come down from KY to visit my FIL along with my SIL and her family from FL. I think it's the first time that my husband and his sister have ever spent a Thanksgiving with their grandma. The pies are baking and I'm catching up on some blogging.

These decorated soaps are the cutest little hostess gifts or even just a little holiday surprise in a bathroom basket. They are super simple to make and very easy to mass produce in a variety of colors. The secret? Tissue paper! ;)

Well, he actually will be two by the time Christmas rolls around. JA142 Birthday Wishes

I love finding new ways to use things and today's post is no different! ;) I used the Dahlia Fold technique found on Splitcoaststampers.com but instead of using a circle punch, I used the ornament punch to give a little pointness to my petals. I cut some small flowers from the Island Floral Bigz Die using my Big Shot. I cut two petals off of each one and adhered them on either side of the sentiment.

Challenges:
Stampin' Celebration: SCIC27

Just Add Ink: JA142

Wee Memories: WMC30 Birthday Bash

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge: SSC84 Design Team Inspiration Participants were to use a Design Team Member's card as the inspiration for our own card. Dee challenged us to try a new folding technique. I used the Funky Fold Technique on my card.

WMC29 Delightful Decorations

I've decided to make my Christmas cards in non-traditional colors this year. I really love this glittery Old Olive & Pretty in Pink combo!

The ornaments are embossed in Iridescent Ice and popped up with some Dimensionals. I just love the glittery touch this adds to the card! I used my Big Shot along with the Elegant Lines Embossing Folder for the background and sponged on some Old Olive. Some 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon and bows were the final touch!

Wee Memories has a great challenge once again this week - Free Your Creativity! It's anything goes! Love it! :)

Supplies: All Stampin' Up!
Cardstock: Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
Ink: Old Olive, Pretty in Pink
Stamp Set: Delightful Decorations
Accessories: Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder, 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon,

I'm not sure if I'll have a chance to post anything this weekend. My SIL and her family are in town again! We're all pitching in for a "pampering" day for my MIL for her birthday which is Monday.

A Little Ghiradelli Anyone?

Wow! Hard to believe that Christmas is 1 month and 24 days away! This year has literally flown by so fast! Well, now it's time to start working on all those great Christmas crafty things and giving simple little gifts that extra "pop"! ;) I have a little Ghiradelli square that I decided to dress up just a tad after seeing this great idea by Heather Summers. She made these cute little treats using full size chocolate bars.

Now for those of you who know me in real life, I don't eat chocolate. I'm allergic to it which makes me sad but I totally love white chocolate which I can eat! YAY! Anyways, I don't normally have chocolate bars laying around the house but I did buy these little Ghiradelli treats for my husband so I used those instead. These would be a great addition to a stocking or even as a tag for a gift! Who doesn't like a little chocolate thrown in! ;) Plus these are super simple and you can easily mass produce these! I would have added a little Glass Glitter as well but I'm waiting on my current shipment to come in. ;)

Super simple instructions: Cut a strip of Real Red designer paper 2" x 4". Run your Snail adhesive long ways down the designer paper. Cut a 10" piece of ribbon and adhere it on the paper so it's centered with about 3 inches of ribbin hanging on each side. Tie the ribbon with the Hemp Twine close to the ends of the paper, add the button, and tie in a bow. Stamp the Ornament of your choice onto Whisper White and punch out with the Ornament Punch. Cut another strip of designer paper 1" x 12" in Old Olive. Score the entire paper along the 12" side every 1/4" inch. Fold like a fan. Using your Snail adhesive, adhere the ends together to form a circle. Press down the center to form a flower. Add a little Tombow to the Real Red designer paper on the chocolate square and add the flower. Hold it down for about 15-30 seconds. Add some Dimensionals to the back of the punched ornament and place on top. Voila!

Here's a tutorial from Splitcoaststampers on the Fan Fold Flower if you need some pictures to follow. I did not use the smaller circle to adhere the flower too, but you most certainly could.

Supplies: All Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Delightful Decorations
Ink: Real Red, Old Olive
Cardstock: Whisper White
Paper: Brights Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack
Accessories: Brights Designer Button Collection, Hemp Twine, 5/8" Whisper White Silk Ribbon
Tool: Ornament Punch, Tombow Glue, Dimensionals, Snail Adhesive

I think I'll make one with an actual TO: / FROM: tag with my glass glitter so you can see the beautiful sparkling tag it will make!
