Daisy Birthday Wishes!

I have seen all these super cute half daisy images lately but instead of finding a stamp, I decided to make my own! Plus I figured my SIL would love something yellow for her birthday instead of pink or purple. :p She's not a huge fan of either color! ;)

Here's how I made my daises.
1. Punch 1 small 8 petal flower.
2. Cut the flower in half but cut it at a curve so there's a small middle bump.
3. Cut one petal off one side & discard. Glue the 3 petal piece to the back side of the 4 petal piece so that the petals all show.
4. Using Glossy Accents, place some glue in just the daisy center and add some glitter.
Easy peasy, right? :P

Cupcake Trio

I'm totally diggin' these Digi stamps lately! They are so super cute! :p I found this great cupcake trio on the Meljen's Design Team blog.
The "frosting" is a mixture of Iridescent Scribble paint & Puffy paint! I wanted something a little poofy to make the frosting look real life & swirly! I added some super fine glitter and let it dry all night. I found some great matching ribbon in my stash and voila! I think this will become one of my fav birthday cards because you can easily switch the colors for a girl or a boy! :p

Christmas in July

Christmas in July??? Whew! Hard to think of Christmas when it's so hot outside! ;)
Seeing that this is a one layer card, I couldn't add a strip of scallops at the bottom. Instead I created a mask using scrap paper and a dauber to sponge on some scallops. I added a ribbon ruffle at the top. Both side met in the middle and then I tied the bow. :)

I inked up my stamp and then spritzed it with some water to make the ink run just a tad to give it that watercolor type look. I added a little bling with stripes of glitter and some gems. This also fulfills the Sunday Sketch & Stamp Challenge this week as well! I changed up the placement of the bling and reversed the sketch for my card.

Happy birthday Steph! :)

My friend Steph has a birthday coming up and I made this great little tealight for her with a matching card. It's a little oriental or that's what it reminds me of at least. ;P

I wanted to incorporate the crepe paper flowers on the tealight cake as well but had to rethink the size of the petals so I cut them in half. If you're interested I can do a tutorial, just let me know! :p

Here's the matching card!

I took a quick break from work to post this so it's time to get back to it! :p

Crepe Flowers

Did you have a fantastic 4th? I had a pretty low key day as my husband was off flying the friendly skies. I did go see some spectacular fireworks last night w/some good friends and their granddaughters. They had TONS of energy! ;P
Today's new technique challenge from Splitcoaststampers is Paper Posies. We were to make flowers using anything but stamps, punches, and premade flowers. Terri's blog contained a fab and easy tutorial on how to make crepe paper flowers. Boy, did I have fun with these! :P I've made 3 so far and can definitely tell I'll be making more in the future. Taylored Expressions has another great sketch challenge this week too!
My friend Tracie has a birthday coming up and she loves the pink/brown combo so I think this card will be perfect for her! I'm not sure how well you can tell from the pictures but the edges of all the petals are touched w/super fine glitter for a little sparkle.
Supplies:
Cardstock: The Paper Studio, Making Memories
Stamps: Reason to Smile, Flight of the Butterfly
Ink: Studio G in Pink, SU! Chocolate Chip
Accessories: leaves, SU! Ribbon, super fine glitter, crystal bead, Tacky Glue
I'm off to make more! ;P

Shine On

Don't you just love it when you find a stamp set you haven't used in a while? :p I've been playing with this great See D's Stamp set for a few days now and just love it! Today I'm playing along with the Clean & Simple Stamping Sketch Challenge and the Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge: Curry Bay Durangos. I don't actually own any SU! cardstock though that will soon change! ;) These colors are pretty close though! This card took me about 8 minutes total to make. I stamped the sentiment and then added a strip of double sided tape over it. I sprinkled this great skyblue glitter over top of it. I stamped and embossed my sun then cut it out. After stamping the two swirls on the top and adding a little sparkle here and there with a Gelly Roll sparkle pen, it was done! :p
Supplies:
Cardstock: The Paper Studio
Stamps: See D's Doodlin' Around
Ink: Studio G in Skyblue & Orange, SU! Riding Hood Red
Accessories: Double sided tape, glitter, clear embossing powder, Gelly Roll Sparkle Pen

Happy 4th of July!

Here's my one layer entry for the One Layer Wednesday: Patriotic Challenge over at the Simplicity Blog. I ran out of white cardstock! YIKES! How does THAT happen??? I know, it's SHOCKING! :p Instead I used cream to give it a little vintagy feel. I guess. The stars were embossed and then I used ink to paint them.
Supplies:
Cardstock: The Paper Studio
Stamps: See D's Doodlin' Around
Ink: Studio G Ink Spot in Blue & SU! Riding Hood Red
Accessories: Sparkle Embossing Powder, waterbrush

Pounded Flowers

Hmmm, Pounding flowers into cardstock??? That's a new one! :p I just so happened to have some roses that are starting to fade a bit. Now I do not own watercolor paper nor do I own a Cuttlebug or Bigshot. Instead my substitution is a pasta machine and some heavy chipboard along with some glossy photo paper. I decided I wanted some texture to this too so I used an embossing folder as well. I love how it turned out!
I really wanted the background to stand out so I layered it on some black cardstock and mae an easel card.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Recollections, glossy photo paper
Stamps: See D's Doodlin' Around
Ink: Studio G Ink Spot in Rose & White
Accessories: Embossing powder, Ribbon Boutique ribbon, button, TE Tiny Twinkles

Here's it is popped up!
Easy Craft Projects is hosting a challenge that focuses on Summer. When I think of summer, I think of the sun and I just love this cute sun image from See-D's! I inked it up in orange and then gently laid a red ink pad overtop to get a multi-colored effect. Then I heat embossed both the sentiment and the image with sparkle embossing powder.
Supplies:
Cardstock: The Paper Studio
Ink: Studio G Ink Spot in Orange, SU! Riding Hood Red
Stamps: See D's Doodlin' Away
Accessories: Ribbon Boutique Ribbon, eyelet, Sparkle Embossing powder, corner punch
