A Smooch for YOU & Happy New Year!

Can you believe it is the very last day of 2010? What a roller coaster this last year has been, huh? Scooter & I are staying close to home tonight as I have to work at 8a tomorrow morning. I've made my mom's fantastic Sauerkraut Balls (a New Year's Eve tradition in our house!) and have a yummy dessert baking for my hubby. What are your big plans?
My last post of the year is based off this post I saw on Becky Roberts' blog. I'm part of Becky's downline & I love receiving her blog posts every day! She has some fantastic creations! Definitely take a gander over there if you get a chance! These are little Post It holders! Cute, huh? I used two great new products (to me) on these - Smooch Spritz: sprayed on the red cardstock, and Smooch Pearlized Accent Inks: highlighting both of the butterflies.
Supplies: All Stampin' Up (unless noted)
Cardstock: Pear Pizzazz, Real Red, Whisper White
Paper: Candy Cane Designer Paper Series, Celebrations Designer Paper Series
Ink: Real Red, Old Olive, Pretty in Pink
Stamps: For All You Do, Friends Rock
Accessories: Smooch Spritz, Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink, Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder, mini Post It pads
How would you like to win your own Smooch set?
New Year, New SMOOCH for you! ;)
Here's how to enter:
1. Become a follower of my blog (to the right). If you're already a follower, great!
2. Leave me a comment telling me what your crafty resolutions are for the coming year!
You have until January 3 to enter. I'll draw a winner on January 4. That's it! Easy Peasy! ;) Good luck!
Stay safe tonight and Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas to you!!!! I hope you're having a fantastic day celebrating with family and lots of love! I'm going solo today....well, not entirely! My dogs and cats are celebrating with me. So today, I'm feeling crafty and finally get to play a bit! ;)
I stamped the snowflakes in various colors on the Whisper White Cardstock and then cut an additional large snowflake out after embossing in Pear Pizzazz and Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder.

Challenges:
Colour Q Challenge 64: I substituted Pretty In Pink for Pink Pirouette.

MDS Embellish Challenge

When my nephew Lucas made his way into the world on July 1, we were all anxious to see him! My inlaws and I made our way to FL and all had the chance to spend time with him in his second week. My husband didn't get so lucky, but a few months later, was tricked into holding him. LOL He has an aversion to babies as they are so small. ;) Anyways, while he was talking to my SIL, his mom walked over to him and said, "Here, hold this for a minute." Without even realizing it, he grabbed the baby! He started laughing and kept yelling, "Somebody take this thing!" My SIL and I jumped over my BIL to get some pictures real quick. Pictures are another thing Scooter has an aversion to! LOL ;)
Anyways I thought these pictures would be perfect for a new challenge I found yesterday for Embellish Magazine. It's a color challenge using Cream, Brown, and a color of your choice! With my handy dandy My Digital Studio, I used Stampin' Up Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, and Night of Navy. This challenge is sponsored by Canvas Corp.

MOJO Celebration!

Here's a little Christmas card that I whipped up on My Digital Studio today. I used some non-tradional Christmas colors - Basic Grey, Perfect Plum, & Whisper White.
Here is the basic design I started with:

I printed off two and added some glitter accents using Silver Glass Glitter.

On this one, I used some fine prism glitter.

I think I like the Glass Glitter better! ;)

A Holly Jolly Christmas Digital cards

Today I thought I'd show you some greeting cards that you can make using My Digital Studio. I used the same background designer paper and colors but switched up the images & embellishments. The first card uses a Scalloped Circle and Snowflake while the second uses a Scalloped Square and Reindeer. I added some Hodgepodge Hardware to the second while using just basic Very Vanilla Brads on the first.

What have you made with My Digital Studio?

Just Us Girls

This is one of my favorite pics of my cousins Lori & Bobbi Jo (I'm in the center). This was taken at my nephew, Ashton's first birthday party almost three years ago. Sadly, last year Lori passed away from cancer but she shined with life and love until the very end! I decided to use this picture in my latest My Digital Studio Scrapbook project. The butterflies, sentiment, and ladybugs on the side are from the Garden Whimsy digital stamp set.

Cody - What a Little Cutie!

Here's another cute but simple scrapbook page. This is my nephew Cody. He just didn't want to take off his clothes for a bath! LOL

Baja Breeze & Whisper White is the color scheme I used here. I added some black elements as well using Little Cutie & the Stars.

First My Digital Studio Scrapbook Project

I've been playing around with My Digital Studio software today and it's pretty cool! You can add elements, background paper/cardstock, embellishments, stamps, punches - just about anything you can think of!

Here's my first digital scrapbook layout. It's pretty clean & simple. I used Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, and Tempting Turquoise for a bit of pop. My friend, Tracie, will be especially proud of me for using buttons. ;) I used some zigzag stitching around the border as well.
Have you tried My Digital Studio yet? Wondered about it but have some questions? Let me know! I'm off to go play some more! :)

Whew! Black Friday was a kick, wasn't it? Did you head out to the stores to find some great bargains in the wee hours? So Many Thanks Luminaire

The Stampin' Celebration Team has come up with another fantastic challenge this week! Isn't this picture gorgeous? It's so subtle yet so beautiful at the same time!

I really wanted to keep my project very simple but yet still have it speak volumes! ;) At first, I was going to use Whisper White and Very Vanilla but that just didn't seem right for some reason. Instead I used some Versamark to create some watermarks on all sides of the Very Vanilla luminaire to still give it some design yet keep it simple.

The dimensions for the Luminaire are 3 1/2" x 11" and then an additional 3 1/2" x 4" piece of Very Vanilla. Score along the 11" side at 3 1/2", 7", 10 1/2". Score along the 4" side at 3 1/2". Sorry, the picture below isn't the greatest! I just couldn't get one to come out! :(

I made a little 4 1/4" square card using the same Watermark Technique.

Supplies: All Stampin' Up
Cardstock: Very Vanilla
Paper: Vellum
Stamps: So Many Thanks, For All You Do
Ink: Old Olive, Versamark
Accessories: SNAIL Adhesive
Tools: 1 3/4" Circle Punch, Dimensionals, Clean Embossing Powder, Heat Gun

Don't forget: The Stampin' Up Online Spectacular Event is going on NOW! A perfect time to grab some goodies for yourself and fellow stampers at 30-50% off! Click here for more info!

Hostess Gifts

Today we're celebrating Thanksgiving! My husband's grandmother and aunt have come down from KY to visit my FIL along with my SIL and her family from FL. I think it's the first time that my husband and his sister have ever spent a Thanksgiving with their grandma. The pies are baking and I'm catching up on some blogging.

These decorated soaps are the cutest little hostess gifts or even just a little holiday surprise in a bathroom basket. They are super simple to make and very easy to mass produce in a variety of colors. The secret? Tissue paper! ;)

Challenges:

Pals Paper Arts 69: Clean & Simple

My Favorite Things: Create a card or project based off the Song "My Favorite Things". Some of my favorite crafty things are glitter and ruffled ribbon along with learning new techniques! I think this fits the bill! ;)

Supplies: All Stampin' Up except the tissue paper and soaps.

Ink: Old Olive, Real Red
Stamps: Delightful Decorations
Paper: Celebrations Designer Series Paper
