Flying Butterflies & Blog Candy

Here's another card using the Floating Snowflakes techique. I thought I'd use butterflies this time and also try the Splitcoaststampers Technique Challenge TLC253 Van Gogh.

The grass was stamped using a flourish stamp and then sponged w/the same color ink. The sky is sponged w/blue pigment ink. This was done on the outside panel and the inside of the card as well. The butterflies were sponged in the same color blue and green then colored using blush strokes of markers.

Answer the question each day to be eligible to win blog candy! One winner in the continental USA will be chosen on January 1. Deadline to enter is December 31, 1159pm.

Button Bear Floating Party Card & Blog Candy!

How was your Christmas? Ours was kind of a whirlwind. We are relaxing today and have pretty much lazed around! ;) It was a nice change of pace, I must admit! I changed my blog design and am so happy with the layout! Thanks to thecutestblogontheblock.com for their designs!

Friday while I was working, I saw the cutest card on Creations's by Patti. She was chosen for the Wicked Challenge in December and made a card called Floating Snowflakes. I don't have many punches beyond the standard scalloped circles and such. I thought the Button Bear set would be perfect as it has many images that would be cool for floating - party hat, balloon, presents, etc.
Button Bear was stamped twice - once on the main card front and then again on a piece of scrap. I colored him in w/colored pencils and layered him w/foam tape. The balloon and party hat were both embossed w/glitter powder then attached w/foam tape as well.
I made this flower one first but I don't think I like it as much as the Button Bear card. I did get to use my new Crop-a-dile though! It was a present from my in-laws for Christmas. It's very cool! The flowers on the side of the card were embossed in silver sparkle.

I'm going to try and post something every day this week. While I'm at it, I think I'll give away some blog candy! Answer the question posted every day this week for your chance to win! Contest ends December 31 at 1159p. Winner to be chosen on January 1.

Movie Night Gift Basket

Second post for today is my SIL, Angie & her husband's Christmas gift. I was a little worried about them liking it but I shouldn't have. They LOVED it! LOL They both LOVE movies! I myself am not a big movie watcher, but their Christmas list contained nothing but movies this year! So I decided to create a movie basket for them as I was a little stumped on what to get them.

I found these great plastic movie popcorn containers at Target. I included Popcorn Reindeer and Snowman Candy Bars for them. I added the movie and a pair of movie tickets as well. There was also another snowman that I created from a lightbulb but I'll post that a different day.

The snowman is a printable candy wrapper from Rubberstampingdiva.com. I just added the fleece hat and scarf.
Rudolph was so easy to make! I saw this post on the Splitcoaststampers.com Facebook page for candy bars but I decided to make mine for the popcorn holders instead.

TLC251 Ho Ho Ho Beanie Gift Card Holder

Wow! It's been quite sometime since I posted. These past few months have just been so crazy! I'll share two posts with you today as I have some cool projects that I just love!

The first post is the Splitcoaststampers.com Technique Challenge for Beanie Gift Card Holders. This is a great tutorial so easy to make! I was a bit stumped on the 5in circle b/c I do not own any circle punches or Circle Scissors Plus so I looked around my house for what I could use. The inside lip of the top of a big Creamer container worked just fine but how to cut it out? I don't think you can really tell here but I inked that little lip up with black ink, stamped it onto my cardstock, and cut it out. That's thinking outside the "circle"! LOL

Enjoy!

Have a fab day!
